Overview

Retrats Sense Sostre (Homeless Portraits) is a cultural project to tackle one of modern society’s most sensitive issues: social exclusion and the denial of the right to housing.

Stories of people who have found themselves homeless are told through art, research and communication. The project takes three different approaches to portraiture –artistic, ethnographic i audiovisual– which combine to create a thought-provoking interplay of expressions.

As a result, the portraits become a form of expression for the homeless, a way to make themselves heard by society. It puts everyone on an equal footing — albeit figuratively — and asserts that we are all equal and, therefore, should all have the same rights.
